Appointments advice

‘Ask my GP’ our digital appointment request system is open 08.00 to 09.00 hours Monday to Friday except Wednesdays and Bank holidays.

This is to request appointments to speak to a clinician regarding a new problem or existing problem you have. You can tell us if you prefer to see a specific clinician you want to see especially if there is an ongoing problem to maintain the continuity of care. Please bear in mind that it might not be always possible to accommodate your request especially if your problem is urgent and cannot wait until your preferred clinician is next available.

Our clinicians include a team of GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Pharmacists, Physician Associates, GP Trainees, Practice Nurses, Health Care Assistant, Community link workers, Mental health workers, Care coordinators and First contact Practitioners who will work together and discuss your care where necessary at regular clinical meetings.

Give us as much information as possible on your request to help prioritize and allocate appointments by need than first come first served basis. We aim to respond to all requests within 7 days initially by a telephone triage by our  senior clinician or receptionist who will then offer an appointment for face to face assessment where necessary. We respond to urgent requests within 1-3 days depending on the nature of the request.

Please let our reception know if your illness or symptoms have worsened whilst you wait for a call back. Please check you email for any updates after your request is sent and ensure availability for a telephone call. If you are at work, you can provide us with a window period suitable for you for a call back from our clinicians. We cannot guarantee but will try to arrange call back during that period.

If you need to contact us when Askmygp is switched off to request an urgent or same day appointment , has a query about a prescription/referral or need any other information please do not hesitate to ring the surgery and speak to our receptionists who will be happy to assist you.

You also have the option of contacting the ‘GP Alliance Hub’ on 01942482848 to make an appointment or speak to a GP out of hours regarding any urgent care. Alternatively, ring 111 for advice.

Please do not request repeat prescriptions through Ask My GP’. Use our online repeat prescription service. Speak to reception if you do not have access to this or your prescriptions need authorized.
If you feel you have a life threatening emergency please ring 999
